Hamsterley Hall, County Durham
JDDK worked over an extended period for the owners of Grade II* listed Hamsterley Hall, providing architectural services in relation to extensive repairs and restoration of this fine country house in a parkland setting into a single private dwelling. Works included repair and replacement of interior and exterior features, a small single storey garage block adjacent to the hall, with connecting garden walls and the re-instatement of the historic ornate timber conservatory.
Works to the exterior of the building involved the re-instatement of an original Geogian bay window, removal of later Jacobean leaded casement windows and re-instatement of the original Georgian Gothic style windows, which had caused a significant amount of structural compromise to the building.¬
