Durham Amateur Rowing Club required a new clubhouse to replace their existing as well as an extension to their adjacent boat store.

The scheme, partly funded by the Amateur Rowing Club Association, has a flexible series of spaces that accommodate a club room, kitchen and exercise room that can be used separately on a day to day basis or opened up to provide a combined social space for large events such as fund raising. The building also provides changing facilities connected to the adjacent boat store, office accommodation, an IT training area and a fitness room.

A close working relationship with the end-users of this popular facility was key to it’s successful delivery. The contract value was £838,000 and the building was opened in 2007.
